Help support the K-9 officers of Stanislaus County.

The purpose of the Stanislaus Sheriff K9 Association is to supplement training and equipment for our active K9 teams and to provide the best care possible for our retired K9 partners, educate the public regarding police service dogs, and honor our K9’s when they pass away.

We accomplish this mission through generous donations from the community and organized fundraisers. The Stanislaus Sheriff K9 Association is officially recognized by the IRS as a 501 (c) (3) Non-Profit.  We enhance the safety of our K9 partners and their handlers with safety equipment beyond what the department is able to provide.

The Stanislaus Sheriff K9 Association recognizes the tremendous amount of public interest in police service dogs. We take a pro-active role in educating the public about the role our K9 partners play in fighting crime in our community.

The Stanislaus Sheriff Canine Unit completes various patrol functions including, tracking, criminal apprehension, area searches, locating evidence and building searches.  We also provide a high level of quality service, protection to our community and support to field deputies.

In 1981, the canine unit evolved from two handlers and canines.  Today, our unit consists of ten handlers and canines, a unit supervisor and unit commander.  These teams patrol Stanislaus County with two of these teams being assigned to the contract cities of Riverbank and Patterson.
